It’s nothing new that contouring is really big right now; everyone wants the most natural looking contour to suit the shape of their face and the right product or products to achieve that. NARS has just added to my list of contour must-haves with their brand new Contour Blush. To me the name is a tad misleading: To be clear, this is a contour and highlight palette… And what a palette! This duo has fast become my go-to powder product when it comes to contouring. Maybe it’s that the shade is just perfect for me, or maybe it’s the formula. Whatever it is, it’s pure perfection.
The duo I have is called Olympia. It’s the lightest of the three options, and I chose it because the highlight shade has a nice yellow/olive tone to it, and the contour shade is a nice neutral medium shade. Be advised: A contour color doesn’t have to be super dark. I would describe my complexion as a medium olive, and the contour shade in the Olympia duo gives me the perfect natural and soft contour. It’s as if I’m they crushed up velvet and pumped it into these powders… The finish is so smooth!
With the lighter shade I apply to my under eyes, the center of my forehead, and around the corners of my mouth. With the contour shade, I hit the hollows of the cheekbones (concentrating right by my ear; do not extend your contour to the corners of your mouth) and a bit at my hairline. I personally don’t contour my jawline because I’m already pretty angular, no need for more contouring.
Choose from Olympia, Paloma, and Gienah (in order from top to bottom below) for your perfect contour duo.
